Exercise and Stress Relief.

A condition of mental and emotional strain with demanding circumstances is what is referred to as stress. One is said not to be a good state of mind when they are stressed. Many things can cause stress. People react to the causes of stress differently. Where we can be a source of our stress. At the workplace, one can be affected by being unhappy with the job, working for long hours, and working under dangerous conditions. There are also life stresses. Under life stress, there is the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job and getting married.

The cause of someone’s stressful situation can be themselves. It is possible to stress oneself by worrying about some things. The fear of certainty, attitude and perceptions, unrealistic expectations, and major life changes can make a person worry a lot hence resulting to stress. Stress is a form of mental instability. People are advised to try as much as they can to relieve themselves from stress. There are some negative health effects that are associated with stress. Examples are a headache, fatigue, and irritability and difficulty in sleeping. Some of the health implications of stress can be life-threatening. The good news is that there are ways to manage stress.

The simple tips of dealing with stress are as follows. Caffeine, nicotine and alcohol should be avoided by avoided when a person is experiencing stress. Both nicotine and caffeine are stimulants. People mistake these substances for reducing the stress levels but in the real case they increase it. Despite alcohol being a depressant when consumed in large quantities, it is not an effective way of managing the stress. Getting more sleep is a simple way that can help a stressed person to reduce the stress levels. Lack of sleep has been identified to be a cause of stress. There are certain relaxation techniques that can assist someone to reduce stress. Tests done to majority of these techniques confirm their efficiency.

The other means of stress management is through doing physical exercises. Stress is accompanied by the increase in the levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. The levels of these hormones can be increased further by doing exercise. It is not a must for someone to do a vigorous physical exercise to achieve this. Walking in fresh air can also be useful. There are even better benefits of incorporating physical exercise into your daily routine.

Exercise helps in stress management following certain mechanisms. One of these mechanisms is through pumping of endorphins into one’s body. These are neurotransmitters that induce a good feeling to the brain When someone exercises, they tend to forget about the irritations that they have had. Exercise is also effective in improving the mood of a person. This is done by increasing one’s self-confidence, it can help someone to relax and can also lower the symptoms of mild depression and anxiety.
